Hoopoe Cottage is one of a collection of award-winning new homes, built with modern comfort and sustainable living in mind.  Its breathtaking lake-front setting keeps you close to nature, while still able to enjoy the amenities of a well-designed contemporary home.  The house has plenty of living space, plus four bedrooms and can sleep eight adults comfortably.  A further one or two young guests can be accommodated in a travel cot or on our folding bed.

Hoopoe Cottage has an open plan ground floor containing living room, dining room and kitchen in one large space overlooking our lakeside deck.  In the living area there is plenty of comfortable seating for large groups, and a cosy wood-burning stove for cooler evenings.  The flat screen Freeview television with a DVD player, hi-fi with iPod connector and variety of games and books will keep everyone entertained and happy.  

Full-height glass doors open out from the living area onto the generous west-facing deck. There is a large table with seating, and it’s the perfect place to enjoy the sunshine or have sunset drinks just steps from Clear Lake.

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you might need. Keen cooks will appreciate the double oven, five ring gas stove, granite work surfaces and wide range of utensils and equipment. Less keen cooks will enjoy the built-in microwave, large fridge-freezer, full-size dishwasher plus space for several helpers to work together in the kitchen at the same time. There is also a washer/dryer for your laundry.

The dining area between the living room and kitchen offers plenty of room to enjoy a relaxing meal with friends and family. The large table seats ten people comfortably and there is a lovely view of the lake and the setting sun.

The master bedroom is a large room with a king-size bed, en-suite shower room and dressing area. It has full-length glass doors opening onto a secluded balcony with fantastic views over Clear Lake.

A very large room with a king-size bed and en-suite shower room. This is the best room for additional guests in cots or camp beds. There is also a generous wardrobe with shelves and plenty of hanging space.

A comfortable twin bedroom with built-in cupboards and blackout-lined curtains. This room shares the main family bathroom (with bath and shower) with Bedroom Four.

The bed in this room can be a sofa, a single bed or a full-size double bed. This room has been adapted to be either a bedroom or a snug/playroom for our younger guests. There is a wall-mounted Freeview television with integral DVD player, a playtable and stools, plus a selection of toys and children’s books. If your group spans a large age range, it can be a blessing to have an extra room for entertaining toddlers and teenagers alike. There are blackout blinds available for the full-length glazed doors that open out onto the balcony.

The family bathroom on the first floor has a bath with a shower over and a heated towel rail.
